What Is It?
A group coaching course designed to teach a complete novice everything they need to know to feel confident in & out of the gym.
my aim is to help you know exactly what to do and how to do it. by the end of these 6 weeks, you will no longer feel lost, confused or unsure of what to do when you set foot in the gym or the kitchen.
most people train to look good and feel good.
if you want to be one of the ones who succeeds at such things, you’d best understand both training & nutrition. This course walks you through the hows and the whys of what we do here.
don’t just take my word for it
I’ve been a personal trainer for the last 8 years and have worked with hundreds of people in that time. most of them come under the banner of a beginner. most of them have needed to master the fundamentals just like you do. given time, persistence and patience you will be amazed at what is possible.
whether a person wants to be stronger so they can play with their grandkids or so they can look great doesn’t really matter too much at the start. A beginner generally needs to focus on the same things - mastering the basic gym lifts and bringing them up to a reasonable level of strength. From there, we can start to specialise.

Who Is It For?

How Does It Work?
you will have access to the type of 3 or 4 x week training plan that i’ve used with great success over my 8 years of coaching with both in person and online clients.
Every exercise in the plan has a thorough coaching video attached to make sure you know exactly how to perform the movement (see the video near the start of the page).
you will gradually learn the whys of what we do in the gym:
Why that number of sets & reps? Why that exercise? Why that rest period? Why that speed? why that frequency? Why do sleep & stress affect what we should do on a day to day basis? why do we record our workouts? how do we do it?
In short, you will learn every little detail needed to take you far beyond the beginner stage.
Personal Nutrition Plan
You will receive a spreadsheet that customises your calorie and macronutrient needs based on your age, height, weight, gender, body fat percentage, activity level and goal.
your spreadsheet will help you understand what each meal should like based on how many times you like to eat per day.
You will be provided with recipe packs and meal templates to help guide your choices.
You will use a spreadsheet that tracks and adjusts your caloric needs as you lose or gain weight to make sure you reach whichever goal you prefer.
just like the training side of things, you will gradually learn the whys of what we do outside of the gym:
why that many calories? Why that much protein, carbohydrate & fat? why that many meals? why is fasting both useful and problematic? can we drink and lose body fat or gain muscle? does food quality matter? why do so many people fail at meal plans? why do so many people fail at dieting? how should you fuel your workouts? and much, much more…
Weekly Check In & Accountability
We will have a Weekly Live Q&A within our private Facebook group
Usually 9am on a Sunday morning.
This allows me the time to answer any questions you have in detail, while having some fun and getting to know you better.
After the live Q&A we will have our weekly check in where we share our journeys with each other.
We do this to help spur each other on, provide accountability and to support both the team and yourself.
people do better when they have support; in my experience the people who support others the most are the same ones who get the most back when they need it.
This is your space and your team.
You have access to a private Facebook group that is just for you and the 6 Week beginner members.
Each day you will receive a motivational and thoughtful post to keep this at the forefront of your mind.
I encourage you to post in here as often as you want, one of the best things about group coaching is the community it fosters.
It makes me proud to know how many people who started in these groups carry on after they've finished.
You will receive several emails a week that will teach you everything you need to know about diet and training over the long haul.
we have touched on some of the information you will receive during this course. that information will arrive in two formats.
